About Century
Century Interconnect Products was formed and incorporated in the state of Connecticut in 1984 as Millennium Electronic Sales. Under the Millennium corporate identity the various cable assemblies and connector products that became Century Interconnect Products was developed and marketed. As the Century line of products broadened and became established, the company completed the transformation from the Millennium corporate identity into Century Interconnect Products. Our facility in New England now supports an EOEM base of customers that extends throughout North America, Mexico, the U.K., and Europe. In support of engineering design activities in the United States, we ship directly from Century production facilities located in China and Taiwan to customer OEM production facilities as well as to contract manufacturers located in China, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines. Management at Century has extensive experience in the connector industry, serving in marketing, sales and customer service positions at a number of large North American connector manufacturers. They have brought their background and knowledge of the electronic OEM market for interconnect products to Century, helping to develop a very competitive and broad product line, as well as an approach to customer service that places a strong emphasis on supporting Century customers to the best of their ability. In following this philosophy, we have modified many of our standard products to meet specific customer application requirements. These modifications range from the simple, for example customizing header pin dimensions or providing special D-Sub pin length or hardware configurations, to the more complex, that of modifying progressive stamping and forming dies to reconfigure a metal shield for a connector. We also offer our customers a broad selection of cable assemblies ranging from Fibre Channel assemblies, IEEE 1394 six and 4 wire assemblies, USB assemblies, phone plug line cords, and custom IDC mass termination ribbon cable assemblies in quantities as few as 100 pieces to 100,000 pieces at prices that usually result in a substantial cost reduction for our customers. We supply the IDC assemblies in standard .050" pitch cable, 1 mm pitch cable for 2 mm connectors and .025" pitch cable for high density IDC connectors.
